PINEAPPLE!

Updated: Nov 3, 2024

Hello and welcome. I'm new in town!... to the blogging world, I mean. You may be wondering about the pineapple thing. My husband and I were wondering, in creating this website/blog, why so many of the stock title photos have pineapples. We remembered (a little too late) that it means "welcome"...(cue the simultaneous, "OHHHHHH!").

ANYWAY. I'm glad you're here. Why am I here? I have experienced loss/grief in different forms throughout my life. In my current job, I have the opportunity to reach many students (I am a Special Education Teacher/Director) and to feel as though I am helping many. I’ve chosen to do my best to help the students in my school who need it most. This has, in turn, helped me. By helping and being part of something good, I have found happiness. I want to try and continue to help people; showing them ways to find some light during the darkest times in coping and dealing with grief/loss. I want to try to reach the people (not just my students) out in the world who need it most.

I'm currently coping with loss after multiple miscarriages and have found a great sense of relief in writing. This is partly for me, but mostly, I want to be there for people who may be struggling. I will be sharing some of my experiences with loss here, beginning with the current. I am hoping my story provides a little bit of comfort to someone going through something similar.

I will write about happy things, too! About life experiences; about helping/living/loving and finding peace and balance. I start off pretty heavy, but I know, in time, I'll be sharing a little bit of all the things that make life amazing.

Again, glad you're here. It means a lot. The next quote (written by ...mother Teresa...oh man...) makes me sound super pretentious! But I love the quote and think it captures the essence of what I'm attempting here. It also connects to a very meaningful moment within my first post. Maybe someone will read and decide to make their own ripples and together we can make some waves.

"I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across waters to create many ripples." -Mother Teresa
